What is Tier 2 Purchasing?

The process through which a first tier supplier or prime supplier (a supplier we buy from directly) sub-contracts with a minority supplier for goods and services (i.e. ingredients, packaging, etc.) to fulfill a contract with Denny’s. Purchases can be made and reported using the direct or indirect method.

What is Direct and Indirect Spending Method?

Direct Spend are purchases from a minority enterprise that are used directly in a product or service provided to Denny’s.

Indirect Spend are purchases from a minority enterprise that are not used directly in a product/service provided to Denny’s (i.e. janitorial services and supplies, landscaping services, staffing services, etc).

Why Tier 2 at Denny’s? Our Purpose

• To expand the use of Minority & Women Owned businesses (MWBE''s) by majority companies.
• To expand the market for MWBE''s
• An additional way for Denny’s to diversify its overall supplier base
